Over the weekend, we were invited to an event that the fire depart. puts together. It was pretty interesting and fun. When we got there, they were showing a demo of a "victim" in the a car, who was stuck from a accident. They cut the car open to get him out, and then they had the life flight helicopter land and pretend to
take him to the hospital. The kids loved that part. Watching a helicopter land. Then they lit two "houses" on fire (see above) to show the difference between a sprinkle system and a smoke alarm. The one on the right was w/ it and on the left w/o. It was pretty amazing. Madi didn't like that part.. the fire really scared her, as it should. It was a great opportunity to teach her the seriousness of it. After that, we had hot dogs. Then they had face painting, where they were clowns making things out of balloons, while waiting in line. It was rainy, but we still made it the best we could. Madi is still talking about it, and Alex didn't really understand.. he still was in aw watching the whole thing. Oh and we saw Kim and the boys there too. Cheap fun, is the best sometimes.
