We started this tradition when Madi was 2... we got this nail from Peter's parents for Christmas one year. It symbolizes Jesus Christ's Crucifixion. We've been telling her the story. At church on Sunday we saw a picture of Jesus and she said, "mom, that's a picture of Jesus, isn't he dead?" So I took advantage of that situation to remind her the sacrifice that he made for us. He was born to die for us. I could tell that she was soaking it in, it was pretty sweet.
Madi and I decorating the tree. You can see that Alex wasn't in any of these pictures. We figured that he would enjoy taking them off more, so we enjoyed putting them on. She's turning into such a great little helper.

Very pretty and happy birthday, Peter! =)
You know what a really great project could be for your family? You can make your own wreath from things around your home. We used wire coat hangers, plastic baggies, and a red ribbon. It sounds like the wreath would turn out bad, but it works really well. If you tie enough plastic baggies around the wire hanger (stretched out to form and "o") then it will look like a white wreath. It's very pretty when it's hung up in the interior doors of your home.
