Daughter of a King

Just when you think your kids aren't listening and you feel like you are repeating yourself 100 times a day, they really do get it...
Tonight as I was reading Madison a book, Daughter of a King, I was explaining to her all the symbolism in the book. If you haven't read it, you should, it's a great book. Anyways, it talks about how girls are princesses and boys are princes and one day we go and live at the crystal palace with our King. So, it talks about how the girl steels a pie from the widow shoemaker and she bakes her another pie and apoligizes for steeling. I used that as a quick learning tool for Madi. She has this struggle with asking before taking. And tonight she got in trouble for two things, picking an apple from our apple tree (which aren't ready to be picked) and steeling gum out of my purse without asking. So, I used that example and said that doesn't make Heavenly Father very happy. She quickly said back to me, I need to say a prayer to Heavenly Father and tell him that I am sorry. So, after the book was done she said the most sweetest, sincere prayers, and I of course had tears rolling down my face. It's nice to be reminded that it does pay off, they do listen.
